The BMO Western Hurricanes family of players, staff, executive members, parents, family members and fans gathered at the Best Western Hotel in Bridgewater to celebrate another successful NSMBHL season by the Hurricanes. If it wasn’t for four minutes of penalty kill it would have been a dominant period by the Hurricane players. Konnor MacInnis minded the nets and only gave up two goals during the game. Saturday, January 19th at 6:00 PM and Sunday, January 20th at 11:00 AM. Jordan Messenger, Morgan Messenger, Keegan Cooke and Bronsen Benight (his second) all tallied third period markers in leading to a dominating 7-1 win. G
In the semi-final game, the Barons came out with 3 quick goals in the first 9 minutes of the first period and had the Hurricanes on the ropes. Get out of the heat next month and head down to Queens Place in Liverpool beginning August 15th to take in some practices and exhibition games during summer evaluation camp. 7
In the final 5 minutes, Hurricanes shooters threw pucks at the net and despite glorious chances, the Cape Breton squad held on for a 2 – 1 championship victory leaving the Hurricanes with a hard earned silver medal.
This tournament represents a chance for your Hurricanes to win their third consecutive league title whereas the three preliminary games of the tournament are the final three NSMBHL regular season games. Travis Parks – Chester

The Hurricane had chances but failed to find the target as shots hit post, slipped through pads and missed nets. With a number of breakaways and strong work down low it still took some time before they were able to find the back of the net as we hit the goalies chest with some regularity. The cost of rehab for Connor and the expenses for the family in these tough times are extremely high. The defense of the Hurricane became more aggressive initiating the rush with good skating, pressuring the Gulls forwards but when they stuck to their plan ice opened up and the Hurricane were able to get pucks deep. Addmission is $5 for Adults and children under 14 are free. The game ended in a 2 - 2 tie.

The represented respect for both the Game as well as other teams and officals on and off the ice during the Provincial Tournament. Josh Shatford (M Messenger, Jollimore) completed the hat trick shortly after on a goal mouth scramble so at least the third period points could be halved. This disease has touched everyone in someway. After a long break the Hurricane returned to game action and found themselves taking on the Bedford Barons in game one of the Legion Tournament from Cape Breton. The Semi Finals and Championship Game of the tournament are scheduled for Sunday morning and afternoon.

As the boys looked into the stadium seating they got their first taste of the big show. Still the Hurricanes players are hard to impress and although the first 12 minutes would find the Hurricanes killing off two penalties they would strike first with Morgan Messenger (Benight) firing in the only goal of the first.

When all was said and done, a total team effort resuted in a 10 - 3 win for the Hurricanes. In November 2014, the MHL stepped in and temporarily took over the management of the team until a new owner was found. The Hurricanes were only one point behind with 46 points tied with Cape Breton who also had 46 points. Both teams did not dissapoint. Great work boys! Movement, pressure, one player reacting and supporting the other.
Adam is a coach that we have been targeting to have on our staff for some time now. Although the Hurricane started to play better and were moving the puck up ice better, a penalty put them behind the eight ball.

Already being at 3 wins and no loses at that point in the preliminary round, it guaranteed the team a berth in the semifinals. Harnish will be joining the current staff of Brad Muise , who is returning for his 4th year as Head Coach with the program.
