It's a fact that flew right over my novice film brain the first time I watched. I am firmly convinced that the world would be a much better place if every kid saw this movie at the age of 8, like I did. A movie that gets all those elements right would have to be one of the best films ever made. Of course, there are dark comedies where the mix of elements is subtle or horror films which bear natural comedic moments that do not detract from the film's jolts; but the legitimate horror-comedy, a film equally and organically at home in either genre is hard to pull off well.
